Brandy Wood
Cracker, Freeloader

At the age of 18, Brandy was recruited to play bass by Lisa Wexler, daughter of the legendary producer, Jerry Wexler (Aretha Franklin), for the all female R&B group, Big Sister. Together, they recorded two full length albums, Soulful Stride and Live at the Lake. Upon leaving Big Sister, Brandy became one of the original members of the notorious New York underground rock group, Cherry Red. As members of Cherry Red disbursed, Brandy began performing with The Chris Barron Band (featuring members of The Spin Doctors), plus working on her own CD and the Brandy Wood Band. Her band caught the attention of David Lowery, and Brandy was asked to join Cracker. Brandy has toured across the US, Canada and Europe with Cracker, and is the bassist and female voice on their Back Porch/Virgin release, Forever, as well as the 2003 iMusic release Countrysides.
