Isaías Elpes is a 30 years old bass player from Muriae, Minas Gerais -

Brazil. He started his musical career playing in church when he was 6 years old. Shortly thereafter, he discovered the passions of his life: bass and music composition.

From there he moved to Sao Paulo, playing with one of the most important saxophonists in Brazil, Mane Silveira. This opportunity led to sessions with many other names on the Brazilian jazz scene. During this time he graduated from the Conservatory of Souza Lima & Berklee and got his Post Graduate degree from Faculdade Paulista of Arts.

In 2011, on a full scholarship, Isaías moved to Los Angeles. In 2013 he received his Masters Degree in Music at Shepherd University, Los Angeles under the tutelage and private instruction of Dr. Abraham Laboriel who is one of the greatest session bassists of all time.

Isaías completed his first album in 2014. He is currently working on his second album due out in the Winter of 2016. He also performs around the country with Chiquis Rivera and in the Brazilian band, Farofa.

During his tenure in Los Angeles, Isaías has collaborated with noted musicians: Chiquis Rivera, Tommy Walker, Abraham Laboriel, Alex Acuña, Caleb Quaye, Greg Bissonette, Justo Almario, Greg Porée, Russ Miller, Mauricio Guerrero and others.

Isaías began using Gallien-Krueger in his early days in Brazil. It’s been 10 years now and it’s still his amp of choice. He says, “The tone is even and pure.  Playing live with Gallien-Krueger is like plugging your bass into a great interface in a studio. It can play any style with clarity.”

Isaías is also a key artist endorsed by Wyn Guitars and U-Bass.
