Isaías Elpes is a 30-year-old bass player and composer from Muríae, Minas Gerais -Brazil. He has worked as Musical Director for Banda singer, Chiquis Rivera, tours with and is a founding member of the instrumental quartet, Farofa and most recently, he’s served as touring bassist for Lee Ritenour in Japan and China.

Living in LA, Isaías regularly finds himself working with some of the greatest sidemen, session musicians and producers in recording history; Abraham Laboriel, Alex Acuña, Caleb Quaye, Greg Bissonette, Justo Almario, Greg Porée, Russ Miller, Mauricio Guerrero - among others - count him as one of their stable of support players and when in Brazil, jazz legends like, Mane Silveira.
Isaías credits much of his success to the tutelage and private instruction of legendary bassist, Dr. Abraham Laboriel (the most recorded session bassist of all time) under whom he received his Masters Degree in Music at Shepherd University, Los Angeles and to the unique influence of the Minas Geraian music which surrounded him growing up in Muríae.
His first album, the self-titled ISAIAS ELPES was released in 2014. His second is due out in 2017.
Isaías began using Gallien-Krueger in his early days in Brazil. It’s been 10 years now and it’s still his amp of choice. He says, “The tone is even and pure.  Playing live with Gallien-Krueger is like plugging your bass into a great interface in a studio. It can play any style with clarity.”
Isaías is also a key artist endorsed by Wyn Guitars and U-Bass.
